We stumbled upon Angie’s place by chance, hoping to finally try Pavlova — and oh my god, it turned out to be the best dessert we had in all of New Zealand. My husband and I savored every bite! Angie is an absolute gem — she welcomed us like family and showered us with genuine love and warmth. The time we spent there, sipping on tea and soaking in her kindness, will stay with us forever. Best pavlova I’ve tasted in New Zealand. Angie was friendly, warm and welcoming :) Sharing her family recipes and she has been making pavlova for 40 years! Thank you for sharing your inspiring story We had 2 slices of pavlova and it is served with tea/coffee. For reference : Price is 25$ per slice :) And if I recall correctly the whole cake is 40$ (please correct me if I’m wrong!) Definitely worth it with the amazing view I would say

First of all, the Pavlova is perfect. We really grateful can taste the New Zealand tradition cake. Also, the owner is super friendly. We have a wonderful time here.

We visited Morelea Lakeside by Lake Tekapo and it was such a wonderful experience. We had cake here – delicious, just the right amount of sweetness – and enjoyed it with the stunning lake view, which made for the perfect afternoon tea. What made it truly memorable was Angie, the lovely host. She was so warm and welcoming, and even offered to take photos for us, leaving us with beautiful memories of our trip. Her kindness made us feel more like visiting a friend’s home rather than just a café. The interior is also full of character. One highlight was a huge decorative spoon made from recycled materials – such a creative and thoughtful touch, reflecting Angie’s care for the environment. Between the food, the atmosphere, and Angie’s heartfelt hospitality, I can’t recommend this place enough. If you’re in Tekapo, make sure to stop by and experience the warmth and beauty of Morelea Lakeside.

A must visit if visiting New Zealand!! The pavlova was incredible, we went with our Kiwi friends and we all said it’s the best we have ever had. Angie who owns and makes all the Pavlova was so so kind. I messaged her instagram for more details and she opened just for us. It was such a lovely experience with one of the best desserts I have ever had. You go into her home and look out to the lake. The setting was stunning. We already can’t wait to go back again! Most beautiful and unique “Pavlova Experience” you could you could find in this world. This place is basically a private house that is open as a pavlova cafe on certain days. We randomly found this place on Maps and got lucky - it was open. The host was a beautiful amiable woman, who, after knowing that I am gf df and my partner is not - prepared separate pavlovas for us for the price of one ($25). It also included two cups of fresh, locally roasted coffee. It was nice to chat and enjoy our breakfast with exceptional views that shine through the panoramic windows.

25 dollars for a sharesize pavlova piece. Angie was lovely and welcoming. Unplanned visit, but certainly worth stopping for.

The pavlova was truly delicious, fluffy and refreshing. Enjoyed it so so much. And the boss was very friendly as well. Must try if you are in Tekapo.
